LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR ARMPITS
Deodorant is one of those products that maybe you don’t relish buying — after all, at the end of the day it’s something you rub under your armpits, and that’s probably not the most glamorous part of your routine.
We’re here to change your mind. Specifically, we’re here to show you that you can not only love shopping for deodorant, you can love shopping for natural deodorant.
WHY YOU SHOULD BE USING NATURAL DEODORANT
Why make the switch? Oftentimes regular antiperspirants contains some not-so-great ingredients like aluminum, which block your pores (that’s how you don’t sweat). There’s talk that because antiperspirants are applied close to your breasts, these ingredients are absorbed, can affect your estrogen levels and possibly cause cancer.
No research suggests there’s a link between aluminum in your deodorants and breast cancer — so don’t get too alarmed. Nevertheless, though, our belief is that you still should want to be putting natural products on your body. While non-natural ingredients might not be causing cancer, they still sit on your skin all day!
For a while, natural deodorant got a bad rep for not being as effective as their non-natural counterparts. But formulas have improved and new brands have entered the market, and there’s a natural deodorant for *everyone.*
Our founder Lindsay Knaak-Stuart has tried pretty much every natural deodorant under the sun — here are her favorites!
AND NOW, OUR TOP PICKS FOR NATURAL DEODORANTS THAT ACTUALLY WORK
1. For working out and when you clearly need something stronger:
This deodorant releases when you sweat, so you’re feeling fresh at all times. It also comes in a tube and doesn’t stain your clothes.
2. If you’re feeling luxurious and you're a sucker for awesome packaging:
Lindsay’s raved about this deodorant before — it comes as a spray and smells like perfume, so what could you not love?
3. For those with sensitive skin or those looking for a more traditional formula:
Schmidt’s Tea Tree Sensitive Deodorant
Schmidt’s is a classic in the natural deodorant field, but this one especially stands out with its mild scent and ingredients (people do sometimes get reactions to non-traditional deodorant ingredients).
4. For everyday and when you want to smell really good:
AER Next-Level Deodorant in Palo Santo Blood Orange
This deodorant took five years to develop, so you know it’s been thoughtfully designed. When you apply, it transforms from a gel to powder for the most weightless deodorant experience.
5. For everyone - unisex, cool and effective:
Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant
Eucalyptus is a classic clean scent, and not only does Lindsay love this, but her husband does too!

Switched to natural deodorant this year and I’m never going back. So many bad ingredients in deodorants I never realized were there when just reaching for the one with the lowest price point. After some trial and error and going to the dermatologist because of not so good experiences Schmidt’s Charcoal+Magnesium is my go-to.
